FLENDALE BREAST CANCER GOLF TOURNAMENT

In support of breast cancer awareness month this October, Flendale Group is hosting the ‘Flendale Breast Cancer Golf Tournament’, a golf charity event, at the Kenya Railways Golf Club on Friday, 25th October 2019. The tournament’s objective is to raise money for the battle against breast cancer while promoting women’s and men’s participation in the game of golf.

Flendale Group has partnered with Eddah’s Hope Cancer Foundation in hosting this event. All golfers are invited to the event to help fight for the survival of those affected by golfing for a cause. Registration fee is 2,000Kshs. Proceeds from registration go to Eddah’s Hope Cancer Foundation towards supporting breast cancer educational programs, awareness creation, and funding treatment.

The charity tournament targets all golfers and brings together, club members, local golfers, celebrities, international guests and the local community to participate.

The Objectives:

▪ Create a platform for golfers, sponsors, local community and the KRGC club members to network
▪ Fight to improve the lives of those affected by breast cancer
▪ Support a cancer-based foundation and celebrate with survivors

▪ Advocate for early screening and self-checks
▪ Enjoy a day of fun day on the course

Eddah’s Hope Cancer Foundation supports the fight against breast cancer by raising awareness, providing education about early cancer detection, supports treatment funding for families affected, and donates mastectomy bras to women who have undergone breast cancer operations.

Kenya Railways Golf Club is the 2nd oldest Golf Club in Kenya with over 450 members. The club boats a remarkable nine-hole par 72 course of lush greens, fairways, beautiful mature trees, a clubhouse, changing rooms and cabro carpark.

REGISTRATION

Registration fee is 2,000Kshs and all golfers are welcome to participate for a good cause. Payments may be made directly through to MPESA Paybill No. 892222 and input Pink Golfer. Registration proceeds go to Eddah’s Hope Cancer Foundation towards supporting breast cancer educational programs, awareness creation, and funding treatment.

Eddah’s Hope Cancer Foundation have engaged in various activities towards the fight against cancer and include;
● Donating a total of well over 300 mastectomy bras and breast prostheses to deserving breast cancer survivors across the country in the past one year
● Creating cancer awareness on breast cancer and general breast health
● Organized for breast cancer screening to over 700 women in Kibera and Kawangware areas in Nairobi, in partnership with Sta-Soft
● Put a smile on the faces of 140 kids living with cancer through our grant a smile program
● Refurbished Thika level 5 pediatric wards at a cost of Kshs 600,000 in partnership with the Rockefeller Foundation
● Raised funds through the Maina Kageni 10 million challenge, to purchase medical equipment for a pediatric cancer ward
● Paid NHIF for 350 families at a cost of Kshs. 1.8 million
● Donated much needed items to patients to hospices across the country through our Call to Care initiative
